William Newman states that alchemy historically originated in the workshop practices of decorative arts in the antique period, and furthermore, that the practitioners of decorative arts and alchemy were united in their desire to replicate rather then represent nature. Despite rejection of alchemy by artists in the Renaissance period (for instance, Leonardo da Vinci and Bernard Palissy) by period's workshop activities of manufacturing art, drugs and pigments can be difficult to separate from alchemical production. To be 'made by alchemy' could simply mean to be made artificially.

The feeling of solitude is a constant companion when touring through the Alps by yourself or with a partner.
The pictures in this series have been shot on film during splitboarding in the spring in March in the Engadiner mountains, enjoying a silence which equally can't be found anywhere else.
In a conceptual fashion, the photographs have been scanned, repeated and mirrored to create a
kaleidoscope-esque effect, which ultimately creates a new, dreamlike world.
This new world can be seen and interpreted by each viewer differently, as everyone finds a new way to see and interpret the pictures.
